The Ocean I Walked in a Dream

The Ocean I Walked in a Dream

I stepped upon the sand
Both newly deserted
As well as long forgotten

_____________________________________________________________

The ocean danced amongst the cliffs
Magnificent displays of rage and passion,

The fading light of a dusty sky
Gazing on, delightful and patient,

Eroded rock, as it merges with each wave

Inviting the arms of the water,

And there is the call of a rejoicing bird
As each wave carries in a new hope

Allow me to linger here
If just for a time,
Until all light has been distinguished

Hare Krishna Ashram

the Hare Krishnas = a Hindu organization where devotees dedicate all of their thoughts and actions to God (Krishna). This is accomplished by constantly speaking, chanting or singing the 'Maha Mantra' (Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Hare, Hare...) so he is continuously foremost in their thoughts.

where I come in:

A group of Hare Krishna's built the Eco Truly Ashram outside of Lima, inviting travelers and locals to come volunteer and experience living an eco-self-sustaining-lifestyle.
All vegetarian food, yoga in the morning, volunteering in the afternoons, buckets for toilets :) , kindness and love.
I was also able to take drawing and meditation workshops, make homemade bread and work in the gardens.

WOOHOO, good times and I will diffidently return whenever I need a break from Lima

View from the girls room:

One of the many small temples for meditation and prayer:

Map of the park, the big circular thing on the bottom right is the main temple, I was sleeping in the WAY bottom left corner. The rest is farmland and gardens

Beach by the Ashram

The Ashram is located next to the beach....awesome :)

All the little hut buildings are temples that you can climb up to and enjoy
